What are achievements?
Achievements are awards given for gaining certain scores or gaining statistics in games. When you earn an achievement you'll gain a set amount of points at the same time.

Who adds achievements to games?
Developers add statistics to games, from these statistics we (the staff of 9p.com) decide which to use to make achievments. Statistics can be based on any number of things, if you are wanting achievements adding to a game it's best to check with the developer first that the game has "useable" statistics.

Can you add an achievement to my game?
Yes we can add achievements to your game, if it meets the criteria. For one, your game must implement our API to pass statistics to our site, or we cannot create achievements, you can suggest achievements to us via the contact form. However, they might not get accepted, or we may change them.

How many points do achievements give?
Achievements can give between 5 and 50 points, the harder the achievement is to gain the more points it will be worth. We do not class difficulty by time taken to achieve, for example if you have to click a button 100,000 times it will be classed as easy, even if it will take you a few hours to gain.

I completed the criteria but didn't get the achievement ! Why?
It's possible that your internet dropped so the game was not able to connect to the 9p.com site, or that you have opened a second game within the site which will stop the old game communicating with the site. Make sure you are connected and attempt to get an achievement again.

What are points?
Points are a form of reward we give to you to show how much you use the website, by collecting points you earn extra levels, a set amount of points are need to get to each level.

How do I get points?
You get points every time you rate a game for the first time, or if you earn an achievement. You can also get points by refering your friends to the website.

How do I refer friends to the website?
You can refer friends via the "Invite Friends" page located in the accounts menu.
For every friend who registeres using your link we will give you 10 points. We will also give you points when they hit certain levels, in particular 2, 5 and 10.

My friends don't want to register ! :(
Try challenging them to beating your highscore, or levelling above you. One of the great features of this site is that you can compete against your friends to try and get the highest level.

What are leaderboards?
Leaderboards are based on users points, their are 4 leaderboards based on time frames.

What are levels?
Levels show how active you are within the website, levels are shown under your avatar on most pages of the website.

How do I level?
You gain levels by earning points, you can read about how to gain points by reading the section on Points. You can see how many points you need to get to the next level by logging in and clicking the points/level in the userbox at the top of the page.

What do levels do?
The higher your level the more seriously other players and staff will take your comments, suggestions, feedback and messages.

How can I comment on a game?
You must be logged in to be able to comment on a game, you can see comments about a game by scrolling to the bottom of the play game page and clicking "view comments", here you can leave your own message to developers and other gamers about what you thought of the game. Or tips/suggestions to other players.

What is the + and - next to comments?
These buttons are like and disliking buttons, if a comments has a lot of dislikes it will fall from the top and be hidden, like wise if a comment gets a lot of "likes" then it will move futher up the comments page so other players can see it.

My Comment Has disappeared, why?
If your comment is deemed offensive or against the rules of the website it may be removed by a member of staff.

What do I do if I find an offensive comment?
You can report offensive comments to the staff of the site via the contact form which can be found in a link on the bottom of each page.

I find a game offensive, what can I do?
You can report a game via the link at the side of the game, however, you must be logged in to do so. You can also use the contact us form which can be located at the bottom of every page via the the contact us link.

I've reported a game but it has not been removed ! Why?
It could be that we could not see a problem with the game or that the game had been previously verified but has changed. It will more than likely be that we failed to spot what you had, so please feel free to the use the contact us form to give us more details of what the problem is so we can address it as soon as possible. It is very important to us that games agaisnt the terms of service are removed as fast as possible in order to give you the best experience possible

I've found a two of the same game !
If you find two of the same game please use the contact form to report the problem to us, we will do our best to remove copies while maintaining the original copy.

Someone has illegally uploaded my copyrighted game without permission!
Please report this to us via the contact form found at the bottom of each page, we will either remove the game or transfer ownership to the correct owners if you provide sufficent proof of ownership.

The games won't load?
If you are having problems with playing or loading games on the site it could be that you have an out of date or corrupt version of Adobe Flash Player. Try uninstalling and reinstalling via the Adobe Website.

My Saved Games have disappeared!!
Flash saves your game information to the PC you played it on, therefore you must also be on that PC. Flash stores this information in a form of cookie, which some anti virus software flags as dangerous and deletes, if this is the case we advise you get a better anti-virus and ignore "low-threat" session and cookies. Over zealous anti-virus often use cookies and sessions as a scare mongoring tactic in order to gain more sales.

Flash games keep asking for permission to save more data. Why?
Flash by default allows programs to save up to 10kbs of data to your PC, which is not very much. In some cases games may need to save more information, in which case flash will ask your permission. You can increase the amount by default by right clicking and going to settings -> local storage. You can then increase the amount you wish to be stored on your PC.

The games quality is really low or zoomed in/out. Why?
You can change the quality and zoom by right clicking (assuming the developer has NOT disabled this feature). Toggle these settings until the game looks normal. If you continue to have problems try restarting your browser.

Games are lagging/really slow!
Flash games can require huge amount of processing power, especially when running complex or 3D processors, it could be that your computer is not of a high enough standard to run the game. There are a few things that you can try to improve the quality and speed, first of all try closing other open programs. Restarting your broswer, reinstalling flash, turning the quality down, disabling secondary or other displays. We would also recommend upgrading your browser if it is out of date, we will not provide support for browsers as old as IE6.

Can I Upload Flash Movies?
No we will not accept anything which is not categorically a game, it must have user interaction to the point where the user is controling the outcome in some form. You may have flash stories as long as the user has options to make that affect the outcome.

Are there any other restrictions on uploading?
You should either own or have permission of the owners anything you upload. If we are contacted or find copyrighted work that we do not believe to belong to you we will remove the game from the public site while the issue can be addressed.

What files can I upload?
Currently we are only accepting SWFs for games and PNG, JPG or GIF for icons.

My file is to big, the site won't let me upload.
Please use the contact form to request more space, we will do so if we think your game is worth it, however, we won't give unlimited space to just anyone for anything.

The upload didn't work! Why?
Check the size of the file, check that the file is of an ok format and make sure you have internet connectivity through out. If the flash file still didn't upload correctly make sure that you are not editing at the time as this can disrupt the upload.
